What course should I enrol on?
This depends entirely upon what you would like to gain from our training.
-
The Certificate in Clinical & Cognitive Behavioural Hypnosis & NLP
We have many professionals choosing to train on our Certificate in Clinical & Cognitive Behavioural Hypnosis & NLP course, which last for 4 weekends, spread over a period of 4 months. The skills learnt on this course can be a perfect addition to current skills employed by teachers, doctors, dentists, nurses and other healthcare professionals. In addition many of our students enrol on this course to find out more about hypnosis or purely out of interest, or for personal development. The Certificate course is also a popular choice for students wishing to 'test' out our training, with most continuing at month 5 of our Diploma in Integrative Hypnotherapy & Psychotherapy, as the continual exciting knowledge they gain spurs them on to find out more.
-
The Diploma in Integrative Hypnotherapy & Psychotherapy
For those that want to train to be a professional Hypnotherapist and Psychotherapist from the start, this course is the best choice. The Certificate course above makes up the first 4 months of this course, and is then followed by a further 7 months of training in the deeper aspects of hypnotherapy, psychotherapy and counselling. Students are also able to complete a Foundation Certificate in Counselling Skills and Theory within this course. If you are looking to eventually set up in practice, then this is the best course to enrol on. Upon completion of this course you will have all the skills and knowledge you need to set up in practice, and a qualification that is recognised by professional insurance companies.
-
The Advanced Diploma in Integrative Hypno-Psychotherapy
This course is for those who have completed the Diploma Course (or equivalent) and are looking for additional in-depth study into the theory, practice and skills involved in the professional practice of the Hypno-Psychotherapist, or if you are simply looking to learn more about hypnotherapy and psychotherapy and specific areas such as working with groups and children, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and advanced analytical work. In this course students will benefit from regular supervision to help support their client work and fully engage them in the role of a professional therapist.
What are the entry requirements?
-
There are no entry requirements to the Certificate in Clinical & Cognitive Behavioural Hypnosis & NLP course, or the Diploma in Integrative Hypnotherapy & Psychotherapy. Upon receiving your application to join the course, along with an A4 summary of your reasons for attending the course, you will be contacted for a brief telephone interview. This will enable us to clarify or gain any further information we need to consider your application and for you to ask any further questions. Once this is completed, we will send you your course joining information pack in preparation for the commencement of the course.
-
It is worth mentioning that we seek to apply a progressive stance to entry to our training, and hence previous studies in psychology and human studies is certainly not a prerequisite or even an advantage. Our belief is that our training should be open to as many people as possible, as the skills that can be learnt on our courses are too valuable for a select few. Rest assured, however, that the course is designed and assessed so that high standards are maintained and only those fit for practice achieve our qualification. There is a lower age limit of 21 on all of our courses. There is NO upper age limit.
How much study time is required outside of the weekends?
-
This can vary from student to student. Most of our students are in full time employment, which is why they choose our weekend training schedule, which fits in with their work commitments. As part of the coursework for both the Certificate in Clinical & Cognitive Behavioural Hypnosis & NLP and the Diploma in Integrative Hypnotherapy & Psychotherapy there are session reports to write up that teach you to be reflective in your therapeutic work and ask you to apply the theory you will learn in a practical situation.
-
The practical sessions are all undertaken 'in-house' during the weekends and extensive feedback is given on your progress, and so completion of the session reports is found by most to be an enlightening experience, which really grounds your learning. We recommend that 1-2 hours per week is given to your studies outside of the actual course hours. Some students choose to fit this study in at a certain time each week and others even meet up once per month to carry out their coursework in a mutually supportive environment.
What coursework would I need to complete?
-
Our training is a very practical experience, which will help you learn what the actual process of ‘giving' therapy is like. However, all good learning should be grounded with a theoretical underpinning, and to this end the coursework that makes up the course learning will ask you to detail a session from your own understanding, applying the theory you will learn throughout. Extensive guidance is given to all students in this area. There are also short reflective essays to undertake so that your learning’s can be personally explored and recorded.
-
We do not hold a position of 'pass' or 'fail' as we see it as our responsibility to help every student achieve the best learning they can. If a piece of coursework is not in line with the assessment criteria (which is included in the full student handbook) then we will simply guide you as to how it can be, and you can then progress with your theoretical learning further. An eventual pass mark is of course required, but rarely do our students fail to meet the high standards we set.
Is there any required reading and how do I find out what to read?
-
The course includes a CD which contains written material for every weekend, so you will never be short of subjects to read about! Some students of course like to read additional books outside of the course material, which is entirely optional. A recommended reading list can be found on our website on our Book Reading List page.
How are the courses assessed?
-
For the Certificate in Clinical & Cognitive Behavioural Hypnosis & NLP course assessment is carried out by submission of session reports detailing your learning, and a reflective journal. This is the same for the Diploma in Integrative Hypnotherapy & Psychotherapy, but the Diploma course also includes a final practical assessment of a therapy session, which is undertaken 'in-house' with one of your group members, at the final weekend of the course - weekend 11.
-
In the unlikely event that a student does not meet the required standards for the practical assessment, they will be offered the opportunity to retake the practical assessment on a further intake, which is usually 6 months later. Very occasionally, the opportunity may arise where the student can complete the further assessment sooner, but this is entirely subject to course procedures and intake dates and is not guaranteed. CCTS makes every attempt to guide our students to successful completion of their course, whilst at the same time ensuring that students are ‘fit to practice' with members of the public, in line with ethical and moral standards and guidelines.
Where do I find out about the course dates and venues?
- Course dates and venues information, for all courses, can be found our Dates and Venues page.
When are courses run and when should I apply?
- CCTS intakes for both our Certificate in Clinical & Cognitive Behavioural Hypnosis & NLP and our Diploma in Integrative Hypnotherapy & Psychotherapy run in both March and October yearly. We advise that you apply for a place as early as possible, as most intakes are over subscribed. Aim to get your application in with around 2 months to spare, however late applications are also considered, so even if you think its too late, call us on 01255 679829 or contact us for reservations.
How do I find out the course fees?
-
As well as being at the bottom of each course page, the fees for all courses can be found within the actual course information pages, under the heading 'Course Fees'. See the Diploma in Integrative Hypnotherapy & Psychotherapy page as an example.
Can I pay my course fees in monthly instalments?
- Yes. All of our courses offer a monthly payment system. Each course requires you to pay a registration fee, which is fully refundable in the unlikely event that you are not accepted. Following this a monthly payment schedule, by standing order, is set up.
What course materials will I receive?
- You will receive a comprehensive student manual detailing the working of the course and everything you need to know in your time with us. Along with that you will receive a CD containing all the course materials you will need.

-

This has proven to be an invaluable service to newly qualified students who are unable to budget the cost of regular supervision into their practice.
