Diploma in Integrative Counselling (Part 2)
The aims of this Diploma in Counselling are:
- To meet the training requirements for BACP membership recognition as a counselor.
- To further develop counselling knowledge and skills, including a 150 hour placement component under supervision.
- To create a reflective practitioner.
- To develop an understanding of the Integrative Model.
- To have extended knowledge and awareness of psychological theory to enhance practice.
Learning Outcomes: At the end of the course, trainees should be able to:
- Use a range of counselling skills consistently within a therapeutic process.
- Accept and subscribe to the BACP ethical framework for good practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy.
- Respect others views, attitudes, beliefs and cultures.
- Articulate own philosophical approach to counselling, to conceptualise case material and the counselling process and to show understanding of the Integrative Model.
- To be able to manage own case load and be able to work in a team setting and/or multidisciplinary environment.
- To maintain client records, make referrals, evaluate own work and make use of supervision.
- Reflect on own life experiences and the impact this has on the therapy given.
- Demonstrate personal and professional growth.
- Demonstrate working at relationship depth, appreciating this as a vehicle of change.
