8 Day Certificate in Cognitive Behavioural Hypnosis and NLP
The Cognitive Behavioural Hypnosis & NLP course will teach you:
- Specific relaxation techniques tailored to the individual
- The way to use 'suggestion' to help behaviour change in others
- How to use hypnotic language to motivate, strengthen and harness the power of the mind
- Techniques to manage stress, anxiety and phobic responses
- Effective habit changing methods
- How to carry out Smoking Cessation Therapy and Weight Loss programmes
- Effective Pain management
The Course Aims are:
- To develop a repertoire of Cognitive and Behavioural hypnotic interventions and Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) techniques at a consistent level
- To underpin these techniques with an understanding of the nature of clinical hypnosis and the mind, the Cognitive Behavioural approach and the underpinning philosophies of NLP
- To have understanding of an ethical framework for good practice and awareness of health and safety issues when using the interventions and techniques
- To increase self-awareness of the individual including the impact on others
The Course Objectives are:
- To know the signs of hypnosis and how to guide someone into an hypnotic state
- To recognise contraindications of hypnosis and hypnotherapy
- To gain a practical working knowledge of the conscious and the subconscious as deemed by Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) and Hypnotherapy
- To practically experience a range of techniques that look to move an individual from an unwanted state to a desired state
- To demonstrate working in a therapeutic setting
- To have a working understanding of the Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) model
- To appreciate working with a variety of presenting problems. E.g., Weight issues, phobias, anxiety, smoking cessation, unwanted habits etc..
The Course Outcomes:
- Use competently and effectively a range of Clinical Hypnosis, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Neuro Linguistic Programming techniques, specifically:
- Initiating exploration of a Presenting Problem
- Using a range of Hypnotic Inductions, carrying out an NLP and/or clinical hypnosis / Cognitive Behavioural technique
- Processing individual sessions
- Concluding individual sessions
- Critically evaluating individual sessions
- Accept and subscribe to an Ethical Framework (e.g. GHR, HA, BACP)
- Show a working understanding of an integrated approach to clinical hypnosis, Cognitive Behavioural hypnotherapy and NLP and of the need to avoid the danger of using techniques based on a limited understanding
- Value and make use of casework supervision
- Reflect constructively on self, own life experiences and interactions with others and evidence own personal and professional growth process
